A sensitive piano solo about picking one’s nose perhaps?
I can’t play the piano so this piece came about from just noodling around with a midi controller (M-Audio Radium 49, no longer available). I recorded the midi results of my halting, uneven playing into Cakewalk Sonar and through the magic of midi editing, I was able to fix it up and make it sound like it was played somewhat competently.
It was then rendered through a piano patch in Sonar’s DS864 software sampler.

OK - have to admit. This is one of those pieces that needs to be fleshed out.
I like the piano part - but not the actual sound of the piano. Needs a little EQ and maybe some more compression.
…and lots of guitars!
Just joking.
Has a lot of possibility and I can’t wait to hear the finished product.

Hmmm. As a amateur pianist I think it is kind of cool. Sounds like the background to a an old movie.

If you could hear the piece as I originally played it, you’d probably agree I belong in a designation a level or two below amateur. I couldn’t play this live if it’s the last thing I do… or, um… hmmmm, that’s not right. Anyway, I play at a sub-sucky level.
Thank god for computers!
